Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this here watch, the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Day-Date. Folks call it a “Speedmaster,” sounds fancy, huh? I ain’t no expert, but I reckon it’s a pretty good piece of machinery, or whatever ya call it.
First off, ya gotta make sure it’s got them numbers on the back, see? They call it a “serial number.” If it ain’t got them numbers, or if they look funny, then it’s a fake, just like them shiny apples they sell at the market that taste like nothin’. You can look up them numbers on that internet thingy, the young’uns are always talkin’ about, and see if it’s a real one. Don’t get fooled now, there’s a lot of tricksters out there.
Now, this watch, it tells ya the time, sure, but it does more than that. It’s got them hands movin’ around, one for the hours, one for the minutes, and one for the seconds. And then there’s this other hand, it points to the date. Handy, ain’t it? Specially if ya forget what day it is, like I do sometimes.

They say this watch is like the one them fellas wore on the moon. Can ya believe that? The moon! I reckon it must be pretty tough if it can go all the way up there and still keep tickin’. They call it the “Professional Moonwatch,” sounds important. It’s got this black face and ya gotta wind it up yourself, ain’t no batteries needed. That’s good, I say, batteries always die on ya when ya need ’em most.
This here watch, it ain’t just pretty, it’s got guts too. They say it’s got somethin’ called a “calibre Omega 1151” inside. Sounds complicated, but I guess it means it works real good. It can do all sorts of things, like tell ya the time and, ya know, that other stuff, the “chronograph” thing, whatever that is. It’s automatic, too, so ya don’t gotta wind it up all the time, just wear it and it keeps on goin’.
They started makin’ these watches a long time ago, back when folks were racin’ cars all over the place. Europe, America, everywhere. I guess them racers needed a good watch to keep track of time, so they made this “Speedmaster.” Now, I ain’t never been in a race car, but I reckon it’s still a good watch for everyday folks like us.
This particular one, they call it the “Vintage OMEGA Watch Speedmaster Day-Date 3523.80.00.” Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? They made it back in 1999. That’s a while ago, but it still looks good as new. Some folks say the name is a bit tricky, but I ain’t bothered by that. It’s a watch, and it tells ya the time and the date. That’s all that matters to me.
They made a bunch of different kinds of these Day-Date Speedmasters, seven different ones they say. Each one is a little different, got different numbers and stuff. But they’re all Speedmasters, and they’re all good watches, I reckon.
One fella I know, he bought one of these watches for himself when he got a better job. He said it reminded him of his grandpa. That’s nice, ain’t it? A watch that can remind ya of folks ya love. I guess that’s what makes it special.
And if you got one of them Speedmasters with the date on it, ya gotta know how to set it right. Otherwise, it’ll be tellin’ ya the wrong day, and that ain’t no good. But I ain’t gonna get into all that, it’s too complicated for an old woman like me. Just find someone who knows what they’re doin’ and let them handle it.
