Alright, let’s talk about watches. Today, I went for a classic: the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, but with a little twist – the Sapphire crystal. Now, I know some old-school watch guys only go for the Hesalite one. They say it’s the “true” Moonwatch, but man, I’ve never been into that Hesalite thing.

Comparing Hesalite and Sapphire

- Hesalite: It’s the original, the one that went to the moon. It’s made of plastic, so it’s lighter. But it scratches easily. Some people love the vintage look, but I’m not one of them.
- Sapphire: It’s tougher. Way harder to scratch. You get a clearer view of the dial, too. It’s a bit heavier, but I like that. Makes it feel more substantial.
In the end, I went with Sapphire because I don’t want to be worried about scratching my watch all the time, which is very frustrating, I think. I’ve heard about the “Superlative Chronometer” thing, and the Rolex Daytona can do the -2/+2 seconds, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal in real life.
