This here Patek Philippe, they call it Calatrava 6119R-001. Big name for a watch, I reckon. Seen it at the specialty store the other day, shiny and new. This ain’t no regular watch, no sir. This is one of them fancy ones, costs more than my old tractor!
They say it’s a “remake.” Like them old-timey movies they bring back. But this watch, it’s all spiffed up, like it’s ready for a Sunday social. They got this new thing inside, a “Caliber 30-255 PS.” Sounds like a car engine, don’t it? But it’s what makes this here Patek Philippe Calatrava tick-tock real nice and smooth.
This Calatrava 6119R-001, it’s got a pretty face. They call it a “dial.” And it’s all rose gold colored. Not like the gold on my wedding ring, but fancy-like. And the case, that’s the round part, it’s rose gold too. Shines like a new penny! They put a lot of work into these things, I’ll give ’em that. They say it has detail and luxury, like some rich folk’s stuff. I don’t know about all that, but it sure is pretty.

- They say it’s 39mm wide, that’s the “diameter.” And 8.08mm tall, that’s the “height.”
- My old watch, it couldn’t even get near water. But this one, they say it can go down 30 meters! “Water-resistant,” they call it.
Now, I saw another one, similar, but it was 40mm wide and 8.53mm tall, just a tad bigger. Still water-resistant to 30 meters, though. Both got that see-through back, “sapphire crystal case back,” they call it. You can see all the little gears and things moving around. It’s kinda neat, I guess.
They got this fancy pattern on it too, called “Clous de Paris.” Sounds French, don’t it? It’s like them little bumps on a pineapple, but all neat and lined up. They say it’s a “guilloched hobnail pattern.” Now, I don’t know what that means, but it sure looks fancy. Makes this Patek Philippe Calatrava look even more special, I reckon.
They’re selling these at them specialty stores. Not the kind of place I usually shop, mind you. But I saw it in the window, all shiny and new. Made me stop and stare for a bit. It’s a lot of money for a watch, though. More than I’d ever spend. But I guess some folks like that kind of thing.
This here Calatrava 6119R-001, it’s a real head-turner. If you got the money, and you like fancy watches, then this might be the one for you. It is a remake, but the new Caliber make it a new watch. They say it’s a “full set”, I don’t know what it means, maybe it come with a free pen or something like that. But for me, I’ll stick to my old watch. It tells the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
But hey, if you’re looking for a fancy Patek Philippe, this Calatrava is a good one. Just make sure you got deep pockets, ’cause it ain’t cheap! That Patek 6119R-001 is real expensive! I heard it is over thirty thousand dollars! This remake is not for everyone. Only for someone who has a lot of money will buy this kind of watch.
I still don’t understand why they make the watch so expensive. I mean, it is just a watch, right? But people buy it anyway. Maybe it makes them feel good to wear something so expensive. I don’t know. But one thing I know, this Patek Philippe Calatrava, especially the Calatrava 6119R-001, is a real fancy watch, even I don’t understand those watch people.
