You know what? That Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001, it’s a real fancy thing. They call it a remake, like they’re making it again, but it’s still the same old expensive watch. That 5227R-001, it’s a classic, they say. Classic style, yeah, that’s what they call it.
That name, Patek Philippe, it’s a mouthful. And this Calatrava thing, lots of them around, all these years. Some folks, they collect ’em, like they’re collecting them eggs from the henhouse. Those old ones, the vintage ones, they say they’re worth a lot. A real lot, I tell ya.
Now, you wanna get one of these Calatrava things, you gotta wait. Not like waiting for the cows to come home, but a long time. Nine months, maybe a year, that’s what I hear. Long time to wait for a watch, ain’t it? Like that other one, the Nautilus, whatever that is, you gotta wait for that one too. Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811/1G, they call that one. That old 5711 was a big deal, they say. A real big deal. But this 5227R-001 is a remake, still cost a fortune.
And how much do you think one of these shiny things costs? Hold on to your hat! They say it’s more than $40,000! Can you believe that? Forty thousand dollars for a watch! You could buy a whole lotta things with that kinda money. Like some new chickens for my coop, or a whole lot of feed for them. My old watch just tells the time. And it only cost me a few dollars down at the market.
They say this Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R, it’s the most expensive one out there. Most expensive of those gold Calatrava watches, with just two or three hands. Imagine that! Paying all that money and it only has two or three hands. My old clock has two hands, and it tells the time just fine. These fancy watches, I tell ya, they’re something else.
Some folks, they buy and sell these things. Like trading chickens at the fair, I reckon. You can find them on that, what’s it called, Chrono24 place. They say you can get one for about $44,000 there. Free shipping, though! That’s something, I guess. Still, $44,000! That’s more than I make in a year, selling my eggs and vegetables at the market.
- Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001
- Classic Style
- Expensive, very expensive
- Long wait time
- Automatic, whatever that means
This watch, it winds itself, they say. Automatic. Got some fancy name for the insides, too. Caliber 324 movement. Rhodium plated, fausses cotes, jewels, shock absorber… Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. Just a lot of fancy words for a watch that tells the time. My old watch doesn’t need all that fancy stuff. It just needs a good winding every now and then.
They say it’s got 29 jewels. Jewels! Like them shiny stones? What are jewels doing in a watch? Must be why it costs so much. I’d rather have 29 chickens laying eggs than 29 jewels in a watch, I tell ya.
This Patek Philippe Calatrava, it’s a big deal to some folks. They talk about it like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. But to me, it’s just a watch. A very, very expensive watch. I’d rather have a good, sturdy watch that tells the time and doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. And maybe a few extra chickens for the coop, too.
So, that’s what I know about that remake Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 5227R-001 classic style thing. It’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. Too fancy for me, though. I’ll stick to my old watch and my chickens. They’re a lot less trouble, and they don’t cost nearly as much. And they give me something back, which is more than I can say for a $40,000 watch. I mean, those eggs ain’t gonna lay themselves, you know! And who needs a watch that tells more than just the time? Not this old gal, that’s for sure. I got better things to spend my money on, like a new pair of boots for mucking out the coop. Or maybe a new hat to keep the sun off my face when I’m tending to my garden. That’s the kind of thing that makes sense to me, not some fancy, overpriced watch. This remake thing is just too much for me. I mean, really, who needs it?
