That OMEGA Speedmaster, you know, that fancy watch, the Chrono Chime, it’s a real doozy. Heard folks talking ’bout it down at the market. They say it’s for them rich folks, them collectors with money to burn. I seen a picture of it, all shiny and gold. Looks like somethin’ a king would wear, not us regular folks.
They got this new one, came out last year, 2023 I reckon. It is called Speedmaster Chrono Chime. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? They make it outta some special gold, call it Sedna Gold. Must be mighty expensive. And it’s got all these doohickeys on it, more buttons and dials than you can shake a stick at. I wouldn’t know what to do with all that. My old watch just tells the time, and that’s good enough for me.
This OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime, it’s a big ol’ thing, too. 45 millimeters, they say. That’s bigger than a silver dollar! Imagine luggin’ that around on your wrist all day. Must be heavy as a brick. And this “Numbered Edition” thing, they are trying to make it more special, I guess. Limited production or something like that.

Now, they got this other one, the Speedmaster Professional. Heard that one costs a pretty penny too, $6,000 or something crazy like that. For a watch! You could buy a whole cow for that much money! It’s just beyond me how anyone could spend that kind of money on a watch. It is just a watch, used for checking time. I just don’t get it.
They say this Chrono Chime has some fancy, newfangled “Calibre” inside. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds important, something about the movement, I think. They say it’s the first of its kind, like they invented somethin’ new. Must be a lot of tiny little gears and springs in there, whirring and clicking away. I reckon it takes a real smart person to put all that together.
I seen some tags too, when I was lookin’ at pictures online, you know. They had “Omega Watches” and “Omega Speedmaster Chrono Chime.” I think they put these words there, so that when people are searching for these things on their phones, they can easily find the watches. These tags are supposed to be helpful for finding things, I guess.
But this OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime, it’s just somethin’ else. It looks like a regular Speedmaster, but it is more complicated. I heard people say that it is a combination of the tourbillon, the minute repeater and the split-seconds chronograph. I do not know what these are, but they sound super expensive and complicated.
It’s got a blue dial, they call it “aventurine”. Looks like the night sky, all sparkly and pretty. But it’s still just a watch. And a mighty expensive one at that. I reckon it’s a status symbol, somethin’ to show off how much money you got. Us folks, we don’t need that kind of thing.
And these OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime, you can only buy them at special stores. They are not available at every watch store. You gotta go to one of them fancy boutiques, where they treat you like royalty. I bet they even give you free coffee and cookies while you’re lookin’ at the watches. Must be a whole different world in there.
I guess if you’re into that kind of thing, if you got the money and you like fancy watches, then this OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime might be for you. But for me, I’ll stick to my old, reliable watch. It tells the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
They say that these fancy watches, these OMEGA ones, they hold their value. That means if you buy one today, you can sell it later for a good amount of money. I guess it is a good investment then. But, still, you need a lot of money to buy them in the first place, you know?
It is just hard to believe that a watch can cost so much money. You know, you can do a lot of good things with that kind of money. You can feed a lot of hungry people, or buy a lot of medicine for sick folks. It just seems like a waste to spend it all on a watch. But, what do I know? I am just an old lady. I guess I am just too old-fashioned. I just don’t understand these things. But hey, if it makes people happy, who am I to judge?
But this OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime is a beauty, for sure. I wouldn’t mind wearing it, if someone gave it to me for free. I’d probably be too scared to wear it though, afraid of scratching it or something. I’d probably just keep it in a box and look at it every now and then. Yeah, that is what I would do.
