They call it “Dark Side of the Moon,” like it’s some kinda fancy thing from outer space. Lord have mercy, this thing might just fly us all up there! And that Apollo 8 name? Must be some kinda fancy number.
They say it’s to remember somethin’ that happened a long time ago, somethin’ about goin’ to the moon. Fifty years ago, can you believe it? They call it an anniversary. We have those all the time on the farm, but we do cake and maybe some punch. Now people are gonna wear this Omega Speedmaster Apollo 8 watch to celebrate. This watch, it’s blacker than a moonless night, that’s for sure. They say that it is like the dark side of the moon.
This here watch, it ain’t like the ones we used to have. No sir! It’s all fancy, with a see-through part so you can look at all the gears and things movin’ inside. They say it looks like the moon’s surface. I guess if you squint your eyes and use your imagination, it kinda does. It’s got all these little lines and bumps. Who would have thought? Well, I don’t have it, and I ain’t sure I need one, but it is nice to look at. I suppose it’s good for your health to have nice things!
Then there’s this other fella, he traded his old watch for this new Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8. Said it was the best one you can get. He had to give up somethin’ called a “seamaster” and some money, too. Sounds like a lot of trouble for a watch, but he seemed happy enough. To each their own, I always say.
They been makin’ these things for a while, it seems. Back in 2013, whatever that means. I don’t know about that year. But I guess people really like ’em. And there’s this new one in 2024 they’re callin’ Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 2024 Edition. Fancy, fancy. They also got somethin’ they call Apollo Speedmasters. They say Apollo 13 was some seconds of fame. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds important. Then there’s somethin’ called Speedy Tuesday. Sounds like a fast day of the week!
This here fancy watch, it’s got all sorts of special things inside. They call it the “OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869”. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? And it’s got writin’ on the back, somethin’ about “APOLLO 8.” Must be important to have that written there. Well, I still don’t know much ’bout space and all that, but this watch, it sure is somethin’ to look at. If you like that kinda thing, I reckon it’s a good one. It’s expensive, that’s for sure. But it does look nice. It’s got that fancy black look. And all them little gears movin’ inside, it’s kinda mesmerizing. Like watchin’ the crops grow, in a way. Always somethin’ happenin’.
